June 9th, California Governor Jerry Brown signed an assisted suicide bill into law.
“Signed by Gov. Jerry Brown and voted against by every elected Republican member of the state legislature, California’s radical measure is part of an organized, nationwide, social-engineering campaign, heavily funded by big donors such as the leftist George Soros .”
Dr. Dreisbach is the director of the Desert Hematology Oncology Medical Group at the Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California. He writes about the medical community’s response to assisted suicide bills in America.
Nationwide assisted suicide bills are sweeping our nation, California being the fifth state to legalize assisted suicide.
Dr. Dreisbach says medical professionals around the country are concerned about the drastic affect this will have on our society. In the article he writes,
“Killing is never medical care. There is no circumstance when any compassionate, competent physician would prescribe a deadly drug to any patient. If “medical practice” has any meaning, it definitely does not include using drugs to willfully kill a patient or for a physician and pharmacist to supply a lethal drug so that a patient can kill himself…The American Medical Association has spoken for all physicians by stating: “Physician-assisted suicide is fundamentally incompatible with the physician’s role as healer, would be difficult or impossible to control, and would pose serious societal risks.”

“No one should feel they have to die to have dignity…or die to be relieved of pain or depression…or to stop being a burden to their family or society. This is why it’s so important for Christians to work to promote the gospel; it’s a way of promoting a culture of life.”
Because this is a horrible issue in our society, my husband Kevin Sorbo and I participated in the movie Hope Bridge . You can find an interview where we discuss the issue of suicide on Fox & Friends here .
